To help young people develop their imagination and express themselves creatively, the Community Art Program offers individual and collective art projects in a variety of media, such as street murals and tile mosaics. In addition to the clinical and therapeutic value, youth often create compelling works of art. The program has received numerous awards and youth art projects can be seen throughout San Francisco, including the tile mosaic mural at the Powell Street BART station, the sidewalk mosaic mural at 150 Otis Street, and “California Imagination”, a painted mural at the Comerica Bank on Union Street.
