WRAP-AROUND SERVICES

Through housing, healthcare, employment, and education, we’ve helped over 80,000 young people in San Francisco build brighter futures since 1984.

At the heart of everything we do is a team of deeply committed staff who show up every single day with compassion, expertise, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every young person we serve. From frontline case managers to housing navigators to employment coaches, our team brings not just professional skill but genuine care to this work.

As San Francisco’s largest nonprofit provider for young people experiencing homelessness, we are supported by private donors, foundations, corporations, and government funding — and we’re part of a bold national movement to end youth homelessness through policy partnerships across the country.

To end youth homelessness by making it rare, brief, and one-time.

To create a continuum of services that inspires youth to move beyond the street.

We nurture potential, promote
dignity, and support bold steps by all.

HOW WE HELP

Every year, we support hundreds of young people, helping them overcome immediate challenges and take steps toward a brighter, independent future.

1. Preventing Crises Before They Start
Early support makes all the difference. By partnering with schools, community organizations, and families, we identify at-risk youth and provide guidance to reduce housing instability.

2. Housing that Fits Every Need
No one size fits all. From dorm-like programs with 24-hour staff to independent apartments, our housing is paired with wraparound support in education, employment, and wellness to give youth the foundation to thrive.

3. Youth Voices at the Center
Young people shape the work. We create opportunities for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ youth to guide services, set priorities, and influence meaningful change in programs that serve them.

4. Learning, Improving, and Sharing What Works
Every experience informs better support. From emergency shelters to long-term housing, we use data to refine programs and share insights that strengthen outcomes for young people across the field.

OUR PROGRAMS

Support at every step

from first contact to long-term stability.

Outreach & Engagement

We meet young people where they are—on the street and at our drop-in centers in the Tenderloin and Haight—offering food, showers, laundry, and a safe place to connect. These essential services meet immediate needs while building trust and relationships that open the door to deeper support.

Health & Wellness

Larkin Street provides accessible medical care, mental health services, and harm reduction support tailored to young people experiencing homelessness. By addressing both physical and behavioral health needs, we help youth stabilize, heal, and take the next steps toward independence.

Housing

Through coordinated entry and a range of housing options, Larkin Street helps young people move from crisis to stability. From emergency shelter to transitional and long-term housing, our programs provide the foundation for safety, consistency, and a path forward.

Education & Employment

We support youth in building the skills and confidence needed for long-term success through education, job readiness, and employment opportunities. With individualized guidance and hands-on experience, young people can pursue meaningful careers and greater self-sufficient.
