Paving the Way: Past Events and Photos
Larkin Street has been celebrating our annual gala, Paving the Way, since 2003. Since its inception, this event has raised over $10 million in unrestricted funding for Larkin Street’s work to end youth homelessness.

Another banner year for Larkin Street Youth Services in raising over $950,000 for Larkin Street’s programs. We honored Daniel Patterson, Chef restaurateur and food writer for his work in the community and the event was emceed by Renel Brooks-Moon, announcer at AT&T Park for the San Francisco Giants.

We raised $725,000 at our 2013 Paving the Way Gala and netted over $656,000 in unrestricted funding to support our programs! In 2011, Paving the Way raised $603,000 and netted over $500,000 for Larkin Street’s programs for youth thanks to the efforts of Ronnie Lott and Harris Barton, Special Guests and former 49er teammates and Super Bowl winners.

In 2010, we honored The Gap Foundation for their commitment to youth & three youth received the “Going the Distance Award”. The Gala raised over $545,000 and netted over $460,000 in support of Larkin Street’s youth programs.

“25 Years : 25 Reasons to Celebrate”, February 21, 2009
U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein was honored in 2009 with the Anne B. Stanton Award for Extraordinary Leadership and Dedication to Bay Area Youth recognizing her critical role in restoring funding to keep Larkin Street’s Drop in Center open in 1984. The event raised over $510,000 and netted over $425,000.

In 2008, we honored Barbara Bass Bakar, Community Philanthropist and Founder of achieve with the Anne B. Stanton Award for Extraordinary Leadership and Dedication to Bay Area Youth. The event raised over $580,000 and netted over $485,000.
