This National Nonprofit Day, we’re grateful to introduce a new visual identity for Larkin Street Youth Services: one that reflects who we are, the young people at the heart of our work, and the community that makes it possible.
For 40 years, Larkin Street has worked alongside young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco, helping them find safety, stability, and opportunities to build the futures they envision. Our work continues to evolve, but our belief remains the same: every young person deserves a place to turn and the opportunity to take their next step.
Our new identity was created to reflect that belief.
An Open Door
At the center of our new identity is a simple symbol: an open door, integrated into our wordmark. It represents the courage it takes to take a first step, the possibility of what comes next, and the welcome young people can find at Larkin Street.
It’s a reflection of what we hope to offer every young person who comes through our doors: a place to find support, build stability, and move forward.
A new logo doesn’t change the work we do. But it can help us tell our story more clearly and help more young people, partners, and supporters find their way to it.
Made Possible Through Generosity
Bringing this identity to life was a true community effort. We’re deeply grateful to Turner Duckworth, a design firm that generously donated its time and talent to Larkin Street pro bono.
The partnership was sparked by Joanne Chan, Turner Duckworth’s Global CEO and a member of our board, who wanted to put her expertise toward something meaningful in the community she calls home. We’re grateful to Joanne and the entire Turner Duckworth team for the thought, creativity, and care they brought to this work.
As our CEO, Sherilyn Adams, shared:
“Seeing our community reflected with such boldness, understanding and care affirms our core belief: youth deserve nothing less than the very best.”
The new identity is also brought to life through a portrait library generously donated by Wolfgang Zac and Claudia Delpin of ZACLAND Studios, capturing the young people and staff who are at the heart of Larkin Street every day.
To everyone who helped bring this identity to life: thank you.
This National Nonprofit Day
National Nonprofit Day is a chance to recognize the organizations and people working every day to strengthen their communities. For us, it’s also a chance to recognize the community that makes our work possible. The young people who trust us. The staff who show up every day. Our partners, volunteers, board members, donors, and supporters who help create more pathways forward for young people experiencing homelessness.
We’re grateful to each of you.
Today, we’re proud to share a visual identity that reflects the people and values at the heart of Larkin Street—and grateful for everyone who helped us bring it to life.
The door is open.
