November is National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM), a public awareness campaign designed to shed light and educate the public on the experience of runaway and homeless youth. This month is a time for individuals, organizations, campaigns, and communities to come together to share resources and work to end youth homelessness. Every year, Larkin Street participates in this movement through a social media campaign to help raise awareness for young people experiencing homelessness who often remain invisible.
In addition to educating the public and bringing awareness to the often-invisible issue of runaway and homeless youth, NRPM is an opportunity to spotlight all the resources available to youth who are in crisis across the country. One of the goals of this campaign is to make these resources more accessible and known to youth who have run away or are experiencing homelessness.
