Qiyanna joined Larkin Street Youth Services in 2025 and brings 16+ years of experience working in direct service, program development, and leadership roles at non-profit organizations throughout the Bay Area. Drawing from her deep passion through her personal and professional experiences, she has dedicated her life to serving survivors of complex trauma, former foster youth and adoptees, and underserved BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities within an anti-oppression framework, as well as amplifying marginalized voices and lived expertise, empowering diverse teams, and implementing innovative programming.
Qiyanna brings clinical expertise in providing trauma-informed intensive case management and community-based individual and group therapy to underserved TAY, including current and former foster youth and probation youth with Side by Side in Alameda County, unhoused families and single parents, and adults in dual mental health and substance use recovery, and previously also managed a program for survivors of domestic violence receiving CalWORKs at the Riley Center and led strategic initiatives for unhoused families in rental subsidy programs at Compass Family Services. Prior to joining Larkin Street, Qiyanna empowered diverse teams of Peer Counselors with personal lived experiences with mental health and/or substance use recovery challenges with the RAMS Division of Peer-Based Services to serve clients across the SFDPH BHS TAY, Adult, and Older Adult Systems of Care, led the successful launch and eventual system integration of a state-funded MHSA Innovations Project to support clients in transitioning from Intensive Case Management programs throughout BHS to the lower outpatient level of care, and provided consultation to BHS Clinic Directors and Site Supervisors. She is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and obtained her B.A. in Molecular & Cell Biology and Minor in Global Poverty & Practice from UC Berkeley and M.S. in Counseling from SF State University.
When not working, Qiyanna enjoys spending quality time with loved ones, supporting local comedians and spoken word artists, and traveling abroad to underserved countries rich with community, all of which have also profoundly contributed to her approach to her work.
