Tyrone joined Larkin Street in June of 2023 as the Program Manager of the Engagement and Community Center. He brings over 15 years of experience working in mental health services with youth, elders, and transitional-aged young people. For 10 of those years, he worked in the Tenderloin, focusing on housing stability and permanent supportive housing. Throughout his career, he’s had the opportunity to work alongside some of our most vulnerable community members, supporting them in accessing the resources they need to thrive. His work is deeply rooted in connection and trust. He’s always aimed to create spaces where young people feel seen, heard, and supported.

As someone who has personally experienced being unhoused in the Bay Area, this work holds deep personal meaning for him. He carry both lived and professional experience, which gives me a deeper understanding of the importance of showing up with empathy, patience, and consistency. He remains motivated by a commitment to ensuring that the voices of those we serve are centered in the conversations that impact their lives.

When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, watching the Philadelphia Eagles (Fly, Eagles, Fly!), collecting vinyl records, exploring cigars as a connoisseur, and adding to his growing shoe collection.

He’s proud to lead a space that not only offers support and stability but also celebrates individuality and community. Every day is an opportunity to uplift young people, honor their journeys, and stand alongside them as they create their own paths forward.
