This weekend, the Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Durant visited Larkin Street for the second time to spend the day with young people at our Geary House program. During his visit, KD took his time getting to know young people and our programs while posing for photos and handing out holiday gifts including new backpacks, caps and winter coats from Nike. Some young people brought items for KD to sign while others simply asked for a hug. And one young person even presented KD with a special plaque in recognition of his ongoing support of young people at Larkin Street.

KD also made a direct donation to Larkin Street’s services to help young people reach their full potential, specifically through our Larkin Street Academy program — his gift will support 12 young people’s college scholarships this year!

We so appreciate KD’s generosity including the amazing presents for young people and his eagerness to meet each one of them. Special thanks to our friends from Alaska Airlines, once again, for making this introduction!
