Looking out over San Francisco from the roof of the 46th floor of the Hilton Union Square was a lovely experience – until we remembered we were about to go over the edge of the building, rappelling down 23 stories!

Team Larkin Street would not be cowed by fear though – all five of our amazing team members for Outward Bound’s 2017 City Skyline Challenge completed the rappel in order to raise funds for experiential outdoor learning programs through Outward Bound for young people at Larkin Street. These programs develop character, leadership and resilience, which help mitigate the effect of trauma.

We’re proud to include Outward Bound experiences as part of our wraparound services for young people experiencing homelessness.  And this year, we raised nearly $20,000 towards these programs through the City Skyline Challenge! Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to our rappellers, who worked hard to fundraise, as well as everyone who donated to our rappellers and team.
