Team Larkin Street took a leap of faith in honor of the youth we serve and the leaps and bounds they take every day to get and stay off the streets. On March 18th, 2016 the brave team courageously participated in a free-hanging rappel off the 23-story Hyatt Regency in downtown San Francisco.

Contributions to the team fund scholarships for Larkin Street youth to participate in Outward Bound courses through our Learning Centers. These innovative Learning Centers provide a 6 month blended learning model that combines rigorous academic courses (GED tutoring, Sylvan Learning curriculum) with workforce development (employment preparation, internships, youth enterprise) all supported by (Outward Bound courses and mindfulness provided by UCSF).

“Although I am certainly scared at the thought of rappelling down a 23-story building, I know that my own fear is nothing compared to the fears homeless youth live with every day.”
