This April, we’re sending a huge thank you to all of Larkin Street’s corporate partners. Employees from numerous Bay Area companies were instrumental in helping us achieve so much in the last year by volunteering their expertise to address operational needs such as IT, communications, and HR.

Our partnership with Google is an exemplary model of a holistic relationship, ranging from professional skills, tours, and employee giving campaigns. Young people in Larkin Street’s Technology Learning Center program recently toured Google’s YouTube campus and enjoyed an informational panel with staff, giving youth an opportunity to make connections in the field. Culminating in unprecedented employee giving through campaigns aligned with Google’s Giving Week, staff from Google also participated in internal ambassador programs and a communications boot camp with our staff. Our thanks go out to everyone at Google for the sincere commitment to supporting the movement to end youth homelessness.

Another stand-out act of corporate volunteerism was the production of a short film on behalf of Larkin Street in partnership by Jake Reilly, Director, Oxymoron Advertising, Andy MacKay, CEO of 20/20 Productions Inc., and Dan Denegre, Executive Producer at Space Race Studio. In a few short months, the team conceived, filmed and edited “Invisible No More,” which has now been viewed more than 50,000 times. The video follows four young people in Larkin Street’s services, detailing some of the heartbreaking extremes they faced to ensure they have enough to eat, a place to sleep, and some level of safety. The video also helped us reach new audiences on social media, increasing critical community support for Larkin Street.

Thanks again to the production team and the young people who made it possible! If you’d like to get involved, learn more here.
